WINTER CONCERT INFORMATION
We are so excited to welcome you to our first concert of this school year! All band and music classes have been hard at work since the beginning of the school year and have made a lot of progress in their music skills.
Students should arrive by 6pm to assemble their instruments and warm-up. Band students are to assemble their instruments in the cafeteria (leave cases in the cafeteria) and go to the gym. Music students should meet in the music room for warm-up. The concert will begin at 6:30pm and will last about 45 minutes. It is expected that all students stay for the entire concert to support their classmates.
CONCERT DATE AND TIME
Thursday
December 7, 2023
6:30PM
Franklin County R-II Gymnasium
Concert Dress: Students should wear a dress shirt and dress pants. Pants can be khaki or even black jeans, but I would prefer that they not wear blue jeans. Students can also wear a dress or skirt as long as it follows the school dress code. Holiday sweaters are always encouraged! If you have any trouble finding these items, please reach out so we can get you what you need; we have great resources in our community!
Grading: Grading in band/music class is based primarily in three areas: Daily rehearsal points, playing assessments, and concert attendance. This performance will go into the gradebook as a two hundred point test grade.
If a student is unable to attend this performance for an excusable reason, please inform Mrs. Shockley via email at least two weeks before the performance. If there is an emergency the day of the performance (such as a family emergency or sickness) and a student is unable to attend, please contact Mrs. Shockley as soon as possible. Failure to communicate an absence prior to the performance will result in a 0% on the performance grade.
Thank you for the opportunity to teach your students. We are looking forward to a great concert!
Sincerely,
Hannah Shockley
